Nguni Nursery Joins AFR100 Initiative

A country-led effort to bring over 100 million hectares of land in Africa into restoration by 2030.

AFR100, the African Forest Landscape Restoration Initiative, is a country-led effort to bring over 100 million hectares of land in Africa into restoration by 2030. It aims to accelerate restoration to enhance food security, increase climate change resilience and mitigation, and combat rural poverty. This includes 32 participating countries in Africa, along with local communities, national governments, public and private sector partners, and international development programs.

Our founder, Siyabulela Sokomani, is one of 5 youth ambassadors of AFR100, with Nguni Nursery providing a path forward to realize this vision of restoration by producing the healthy plants necessary for large-scale ecological restoration. From the beginning, playing a role in addressing climate change near and far has been part of the mission of Nguni Nursery, and we are honored to participate in this ambitious initiative.
